Gentry Stars Boys Hockey
The Gentry Academy Stars boys hockey program has quickly established itself as one of the premier programs in the state since its inception during the 2018–2019 school year. Built on a foundation of high standards, player development, and a competitive mindset, the Stars have experienced remarkable success in a short period of time.
A defining moment for the program came in 2021 when the Stars captured the MSHSL Class A State Championship, cementing their place among Minnesota’s elite. Since then, Gentry has continued to elevate its level of competition, now competing in Class AA within Section 4. Most recently, the Stars advanced to the State Tournament after a hard-fought victory over White Bear Lake in the Section 4AA Final and competed in the 2026 State Tournament—another milestone achievement for the program.
The team is led by Head Coach Kyle Follmer, who will enter his fourth season at the helm in 2026–2027. Under his leadership, the program has continued to grow, emphasizing discipline, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence both on and off the ice.
Gentry Academy boys hockey is open to students in grades 9 through 12, providing a high-level competitive experience while continuing to develop well-rounded student-athletes prepared for success beyond the rink.
